We have arrived in NYC! It’s been a busy few days, lots of good pictures and wonderful times here, but little free time to sit with updates, so I’m taking a moment to catch up this evening while Daniel and John run tech at 92Y.
After a delightful and blindingly generous brunch at a friend of the Watermill Center’s lovely home, we hopped a train for NYC and successfully lugged all of our equipment in our arms and in one car! Quite a proposal, came off swimmingly. Paul relaxed afterward (Pictured above).
Next day we loaded into 92Y and ran our first rehearsal there. The piano sounds every bit as gorgeous as it looks. We got used to our stage, ran our songs and broke for dinner before reconvening at a tremendous studio in Brooklyn simply called “THE END”. There we met with Keats, Meena and Clarice, our inimitable additional strings. It was truly thrilling to hear them lend their fabulous talents to Daniel’s songs at last. A wonderful evening for sure.
