Continuing with the series of Chris Hefner’s photographs documenting the Watermill rehearsals, we have some photos of Daniel and the Band in their workspace. Daniel has spent the past two months in this room composing “John Atwood: Black and Whites”, and now the band has joined him to prepare for its upcoming premiere.
Here you will see Jim Cooper on the double bass, Jason Toth on drums, Paul Parts on electric bass and of course Daniel himself at the piano. Also ever-present is the spirit of Marlene Dietrich, whose beautiful shoes grace the work table, a variety of objects and artworks given to Daniel during his stay by other Watermill residents, and a multitude of quietly empty chairs. Not pictured is Chris Hefner, who plays the saw.
